A Year and a Half Old!

Goodness! It is so hard to believe Logan is now 18 months old. Time flies so fast!!!
This little boy has just brought us so much joy already and continues to do so every day. I don't even know where to start with all the new things he has been doing. I guess the biggest thing is the way he has started putting two words together. Usually it is things like, "Daddy Truck," "Mommy Shoes," (sad how he associates shoes with me, huh?), and my absolute favorite, "Uh-Oh Mommy." For Logan's Half Birthday we got him a Cinnamon Roll from Cinnabon. I pretty much just let him dive into it and it was an absolute mess. He enjoyed it though.
Just look at the joy on his little face from getting a sweet like that!

Lately Logan has started repeating things until you acknowledge what he is talking about. AND, he repeats it louder and louder until you do so. It is funny how children don't care where you are and don't understand that in a restaurant or a store you can't yell like that. So, if you take too long to respond to what he is talking about, everyone around you will be waiting on you to respond as well! It's quite embarrassing!
Bathtime is one of Logan's favorite times of day. He will stay in there as long as I'll let him - which is usually until the water starts turning cold. He doesn't splash too much, but he does like to try to poor water out of the tub onto the floor. He's getting better about not doing it, but he will definitely test you on it. He also thinks it is fun to pass gas in the tub, but that has created a bit of a problem lately so we are trying to discourage that!
Some other cute things Logan does is tell you when he is tired of something or done with it. Tonight I was brushing his teeth (this is complete torture for us all) he was crying and saying, "done." He is good about telling you when he is done with his meal, done with his bath, done riding in the carseat (for this he will try to push the button of the latch to let himself out all while saying, "out"). All of this is really cute to watch him communicate (both signing and talking), but it is hard to get him to understand sometimes that he can't be done for certain reasons - like riding down the road!
Logan has also pee-pee'd in the potty a couple of times. He has learned that when he goes to get in the bath, he always has to go. So, I have started putting him on the potty before he goes and he always tries, but sometimes nothing will come out. I know it is way too early for him to potty train, but I feel good planting that seed in him of where he is supposed to be going.
Some of Logan's favorite things are:
  • Tractors
  • Farm animals
  • Daddy
  • Mommy
  • Blake
  • Dylan
  • Saying everyone's name over and over as I tell him that each person loves him
  • He will tell you when he is tired and tell you, "night-night" (he does this every day and night)
  • Chasing Ashley around the house saying her name
  • Putting things in the dog's water bowl while daddy is supposed to be watching him
  • Climbing in Mommy's bed and watching a movie

These pictures are of Logan trying to climb into Hampton's crib - that's right, Patrick got it put together today! Yayyyy!!!

Some of the sounds Logan can tell you are: horse, sheep, cow, pig, dog, cat, chicken, rooster (my favorite), fish, lion, alligator, crab (pinch pinch pinch), bird, owl, monkey, and maybe a couple more.

We were at Chick Fil A the other morning and he had a couple of pieces of chicken and then I had cut him up some fruit. Then, he starts yelling at me, "Ba Ba Ba" and I can't figure out what he wants. He was pointing and I finally figured out he was trying to get me to give him some more chicken. He was making the sound for me to understand him (for whatever reason, he won't say the name of the animal - just the sound even though he knows what it is). It was pretty cute! Logan will also show you all of his body parts now. He just learned his elbow not too long ago and the newest thing he is doing is showing you his smile. That is just the sweetest thing ever!!! A lot of times he'll smile for pictures better if you just ask him to show you his smile.
Logan is such a happy baby boy! He is sooo good at entertaining himself and he still loves to read books. It is amazing watching him play and the things he will do.

He is learning to count and will say, "Two, Three" but that is about it on the numbers. He loves for me to sing songs to him so a lot of times during our meals he'll start "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" by doing the hand motions and I have to sing it to him. He doesn't care what you sing, he just likes for you to entertain him. Of course, my voice isn't that pretty to hear I am sure, but he enjoys it, so I'll make a fool of myself just to see him smile!

Logan, we all sure do love you and you just get more and more precious every day! We can't wait to see what you are going to do next.

Lots of love, Mommy, Daddy, Blake and Dylan
