Logan is 2!

Dear Logan,

It is so hard to believe you are already 2 years old! Time has just flown by. But, they do say that time flies when you are having fun and your daddy and I certainly have lots of fun with you. We never could have imagined the joy that you would bring to us. There is not doubt that you are one of the happiest little boys I have ever seen. Although you usually have an intense look on your face, you are normally very content and happy and in turn bring us more happiness than imaginable.

Some of the things that I love about you are the way you call for one of us when you wake up in the morning. Usually, it is daddy, but you sometimes call for "mommy," "Doo Doo," or "Blake" (when he is here). It is so funny to watch you when you run down the hall naked as a jaybird after your baths. You run straight into your room and hide in the corner for one of us to find you - all the while, hollering "daddy" or "mommy."

Some other milestones in your life right now...

  • You call yourself, "Ogi."
  • You can now climb the stairs all by yourself (you have been doing this for a while, but you do it so well now that we will actually let you without being right there with you) and when I go to carry you down the stairs, you say, "Ogi hold on tight." It is precious!
  • You love to go to My Gym - which we do on Tuesdays. You have made so many friends there...Bella Grace, Hudson, Jackson, Ian, Morgan, Ella, and Addie are just a few. You can now sing along with most of the songs we do there and have recited the exercises we do in circle time. I love watching you do it - you could almost just lead the class!
  • You have learned some of your colors...you know Blue, Red, Orange, and Brown. You know green most of the time and we are working on all the others...some are kind of difficult.
  • We have also now started working on shapes with you. You know what a circle is - learned that from eating Smarties with mommy :)
  • Speaking of eating - you are still a very finicky eater. I can always get you to eat fruits, but veggies and meat are still a battle. You like Chick-fil-a chicken and fruit (with apple juice) and you'll eat sausage and hot dogs most of the time. There are a lot of times though you won't even try something for me. We try not get get frustrated and really try to get you to try new things, but it doesn't work that often. We still fall back on baby food veggies just to get some in you. And you definitely get a lot of dairy. You drink a ton of Milk. You have also just started eating Yo Baby yogurt which you hated before, so we are on the right track!
  • Your favorite tv shows are The Backyardigans, Go, Diego, Go, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - you sing some of the songs and always do the dances. I love when Diego comes on and he is running and you take off and run around the house singing his song with him and my favorite by far is when you do the Hot Dog dance with Mickey. It is just precious!!
  • You are starting to pay more attention to Hampton now. The other day you were so sweet to see that he had dropped a toy and you walked all the way over and picked it up for him and patiently waited for him to grasp it out of your hand. After he dropped it again, you picked it up again. You are turning out to be a great big brother just like Blake and Dylan. You certainly have great role models!
  • There are so many wonderful things you are now doing that I am forgetting to type a ton of them, but my absolute favorite thing to do with you every day is pray. You have just learned that we close our eyes when we pray and you are sooo funny doing it. You look a little like Stevie Wonder looking up praying with your eyes closed! You squint them so tight and sometimes you'll say, "Ogi close eyes." You love to pray for everyone in the family and it starts with Mommy and Daddy, then moves on to your brothers and grandparents, cousin, aunts and uncle and then on to your toys. Sometimes you limit prayer time, but we just never know! I pray that as you grow up you learn to talk with God and have a great relationship with him!

Logan, there are so many things about you that are unique and that we love. You have no idea how much you mean to daddy and me. You have blessed our lives in so many ways and we look forward to the many more ways you will continue to do so.

We love you so very much and hope you have had a wonderful birthday. Happy Happy Birthday precious little boy. We love you more than words could ever express!

Love,

Mommy, Daddy and all your brothers!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Logi Bear!

February 7, 2009Logan woke up to a camera in his face (he is pretty used to the camera, luckily).
We had gotten him a tricycle for his birthday, but it ended up being a little big for him. He can grow into it though. He was very excited nonetheless!
He could hardly wait for one of us to push him around on it!
We had a special day with Logan. We had a nice breakfast, got ready and tehn took him to Wal-Mart to get a couple of new toys and then to his favorite restaurant for lunch, Chick-fil-a, where he could get his favorite - "Bauck, Bauck and Appoo Juice." (This means chicken and apple juice).
After his nap, it was so nice that he was able to go outside to play with some of his new toys. He would rather play with the pinestraw though. I really think the only reason we buy toys is to make ourselves feel better!
He was not interested in posing for a picture with me. This is the only one we got!
He was much too busy.

While we were outside, Aunt Patty came over and brought Logan's birthday gift - a new picnic table. What fun we are going to have using that!
We had the family over to celebrate that evening with pizza, soda and cupcakes. It was lots of fun and Logan ate up all the attention!
Nana was able to come also which was really nice. She was great to hold little Hampton a lot for us!
Right as everyone was getting there, Logan started coughing up some phlegm and got sick (really sick to where we had to change his clothes). He was fine for the evening, but just as everyone was leaving, he got a fever. It was so sad! He had been congested for a week and a half, but it just wouldn't go away.
Mimi and "G" daddy had this cute table built for Logan. It is an exact replica of one that "G" Daddy's grandmother had built for his children. What a special gift!
We got Logan this John Deer tractor for his birthday. He has had a great time riding around on it. Too bad we didn't think ahead to charge the battery so he could actually ride it on his birthday!
Cute little Hampster!
Again...so sweet!
Logan is such a happy little boy!

Cupcake time!
(For some reason these uploaded out of order, but you get the picture - no pun intended).
Aunt Kat got Logan this piano with the microphone (thanks a lot) and Logan decided that the microphone should go in his ear. He finally figured out what to do with it and started yelling in it for us. We have that put up for now!
He loved it though!
Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you.
Happy Birthday, dear Logan. Happy Birthday to you!
Blowing out candles with Daddy
Yummy!
Logan hates to be messy or have anything on his hands, so the fact that he made tried shoving this entire thing in his mouth at once was really funny. He kept telling us he was dirty.

There is a sticker in his hair that looks like a leaf or something. It came in his birthday card from Mimi and it is a party hat that he thought should be stuck in his hair where it goes!
He got tired of getting his hands dirty, so he went to just shoving the cupcake in with the plate.
We had a great time celebrating Logan's birthday with everone!
Thanks to the family for coming over!!!

Found the Thumb

Hampton always has his hands in his mouth, so it was only a matter of time before he started sucking on his thumb. He isn't doing it as a habit yet (I am trying to keep the paci in there so that it is easier to take away), but I got some cute pictures of him while it lasted.
All Hamp needs is his hands and toes, and he is usually pretty happy!

5 Months Old!

Happy 5 months baby Hampton!

He truly smiles all the time. I am so lucky to have such a happy baby.
Some of the sweet things Hamp has done at 5 months is grab for things, smiling, smiling, smiling, coos all the time, and watches us anywhere we are in the room. He is working on his sleep during the day and night. He is in his crib napping during the day now, but in the co-sleeper in our room at night. We still are NOT on any kind of schedule with the exception of eating. He eats every 3 hours during the day and there is no consistency at night yet. Prayerfully, that will change very soon!!!
Happy 5 months, sweet baby boy!
We love you so very much!
I hope to have more to blog about at his 6 month update (which is really next week since I am so late blogging).

Hampton's First Cereal

On the eve of Hampton's 5 months, we introduced cereal to him. He took it really well, but the cereal we gave him didn't agree with him. Because of his reflux, it came right up and it burned him when it did. He screamed. We tried it again the next night just to make sure it wasn't coincidental - and, it wasn't. He threw it up so bad that I think he even threw up what milk he had eaten beforehand.

I think this is a cute picture of his little tongue.
After talking with the doctor about the situation, he told us to try a different type of cereal (Beech Nut) because it doesn't have the same ingredients and it would be better for his stomach. We were very hesitant to try it again, but we finally did and it has worked so far! It took me two weeks to even try it, but I am now glad that I did. He is doing VERY well with the Beech Nut!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Maddox!

February 1st was Maddox's 2nd Birthday. We went to his party and the weather couldn't have been more perfect for an outdoor party! There was a man making balloons for everyone and he did an awesome job! Logan could have cared less about the balloons at the time. He was much more interested in the trucks and the train that they had to play with. Look at Aunt Chappell in that crazy hat!
Hampton was absolutely perfect the entire time!
The birthday boy!
Logan loved this ride on train.
What a beautiful cake Elizabeth had made. It tasted just as good as it looked!
Logan climbing up the slide. He did NOT want me to help him.
Graceful!
Daddy in his cool hat
We had a great time at your party, Maddox. Thanks for having us and we love you and look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with you!!!
Happy Birthday!
Love,
The Subers

Nice weather = Outside!

For about a week it was pretty nice here, so we took advantage of it and played outside! This was the first of several nice days we had...Logan and his big trucks - he says "big truck" at least 20 times a day!
It was still a little cool, so Hamp wore his cute hat again.
Every time we go through the garage, Logan grabs the broom and runs out near the car and starts sweeping. All he needed for his birthday was a broom and he would have been good to go!
He actually does a pretty good job at it.
Yes, he has hit my car several times!
We got some balloons at Maddox's birthday party (that is my next post) and he played with them until he eventually popped them. Dylan even joined Logan on the fun.
Look, mommy - a tail! He actually barked like a puppy and said he was a puppy. I thought it was pretty clever.
