We had a very busy Wednesday. Hampton was two weeks old and we had to take him to his two week appointment with Dr. Whitaker. He said that Hampton looked just perfect and we discussed some of our concerns about his reflux and what medicine to give him. Dr. Whitaker started to prescribe Zantac - which Logan had been given when he was a baby and I had to pass on that! It is so disgusting and it didn't work. So, he suggested Axid which he said tasted better but was more expensive. Who cares??? As long as it works - which for the record, so far doesn't! We had the Rx filled that evening and when I tried to give it to Hampton, he absolutely screamed. He hated it and it doesn't taste that much better. I have resorted to giving that to him while I put Milicon on his tongue to help disguise the taste. It is working getting it down, but Hampton is still having major projectile spit up. It is so bad that last night I was in my bed and Hampton was in the co-sleeper next to the bed and it hit my arm all that way from the co-sleeper. You would think that he would be getting better at least gradually, but that isn't the case. So, you know I will be on the phone first thing in the morning trying to get him something else that will actually work! Before we left that morning, Dylan was so sweet to sit and read a book with Logan. Logan still loves to be read to and we do that several times throughout the day. It is hard because Logan doesn't really understand why you can't just sit with him all day and read!
Sweet little baby!
Sweet little baby!
Hampton weighed 9 lbs 5 oz and was 21 1/4 inches long. He is in the 60th percentile for weight. I sure do hope he doesn't grow as fast as Logan did!
After the doctor's appointment, Patrick and I took the boys to the mall so I could get a couple of things. I was DYING to get out of the house and it felt so good. We first loaded the boys up into their new double stroller and went to the food court for some lunch. Logan was so good and ate pretty well. Hampton went right to sleep and slept the entire time we were at the mall. After we ate, Patrick took Logan on the carousel and Logan rode the chicken. Of course, I didn't take my camera with us so I missed getting pictures of their first ride in the stroller and the Logan's first ride on the carousel. Everyone always laughs that I take my camera every where - well, there is a reason for it! If I don't have it, I miss things - UGHH!
It was so nice to get out of the house and thanks, Patrick for being such a trooper and helping me out! I love you!!!

Hey Traci! I hate to hear Hampton is having reflux. Have you tried letting him sleep in something like a swing? That elevated position sometimes will help. If you notice the medicine still not working, Bethanecol (sp?) always worked WONDERFUL for both my kids. They don't automatically prescribe it, usually Zantac and Reglan first, which do not work for mine. They also had prilosec but I think they had to be a certain age to start that. Of course, mine are now 5 and 8 so things probably have changed. Anyway, you might ask your dr. about it.
