A year with Logan

The day Logan was born we were blessed with a wonderful addition to our family. Little did we know how much Logan would teach us, amaze us, and truly bless our lives. He is such a great baby and words could never describe how much love he has brought into all of our lives. Here he is the right after he was born - all 9 lbs 10 oz of him.
Logan has always had such a serious expression. Still to this day, that expression comes out in him and he has an intense way of studying things and viewing them.
At one month, he developed a horrible case of baby acne that finally went away. It was so sad and the worst part was not being about to do anything about it!
Here is Logan at 2 months and again he is very serious.
At 3 months Logan was more interactive and was much more fun to play with. He has always had a smile that would just light up the room and no matter what kind of day you have had, if Logan smiles, it will make you smile!
4 months old and strong as can be. I could hold his hands and walk with him at just 4 months - of course, he still isn't walking on his own yet! This was a great time of year because the summer was near and we could really start to enjoy the outdoors.
Logan was so happy playing on his tummy once he could really hold his head up. His favorite thing to look at is his big brothers. To this day, either of them can walk into the room and Logan's little face will just light up. It is so fun each day when Dylan gets home to watch Logan play with his big brother.
By 6 months, Logan could sit up on his own and was even more fun to interact with!
Around 7 months, Logan finally started crawling and once he did, there was no stopping him. He is still into everything. The one good thing was that when he wanted something, he was able to get to it on his own. What fun!

When Logan was 8 months old, we went to Orlando and took him to Sea World and Islands of Adventure. He was really good and we had a great time. We went with Aunt Chappell and Uncle Marty, Aunt Sara, Aunt Kat and Blake. Logan ate french fries for the first time while we were there and that was the first time he actually sat there and ate food so that I could eat a meal without being interrupted - I don't think I will ever forget that day!
I will never understand why all babies like to put everything they see into their mouths. It is so gross, but every baby does it. Logan will find the tiniest thing on the floor and into the mouth it goes. I think that is one reason why it will be nice when he starts walking - then he won't be as close to floor to see everything that is there.
Logan at Christmas time and boy was he tempted by our tree. I lost two ornaments this past year and one of them I never found and the other got broken. Logan made our Christmas even more special and was such a joy. He did really well with his toys and his favorite by far is the little house that Santa brought to him. He has played and played in that thing and loves everything about it.
By 11 months Logan had been walking behind things for a while and that gave him even more access to things in the house! He loves to push things across the floor whether walking or crawling. Either way works for him. He really loves his firetruck that he got for Christmas and he has just figured out how to climb on it, but still hasn't figured out how to push himself around while he is on it.
Happy Birthday, my precious little boy!
Logan is now 1 and although it is such a fun milestone, I am a little sad that he is outgrowing the "baby" stage and will soon be entering the toddler stage. As we have already experienced with him, I am sure that every day will bring even more fun and adventure for both us and him.
Logan, we have truly enjoyed the past year with you and look forward to all the fun that you will continually bring to our family. We all love you more than you can possibly know and pray for all the best for you always.
Love,
Momma, Daddy, Blake, and Dylan

Happy Birthday, Logan!

Logan woke up bright and early and right at 7. He must have known it was his Birthday. Patrick and I went up and got him up together and I sang "Happy Birthday" to him. He was in such a good mood. The night before, daddy had put together his new wagon that we got him for his birthday and as soon as he finished his bottle, he wanted to get down to go play on it. He pushed it for a little while and then we put him in it and tried to pull him around the house. It was kind of big to have in the house, but we did it for a little while. He was so happy to be in his little wagon! Logan pushing the wagon
Riding in the wagon
He even stopped to read one of his books
Laughing at Dylan
We went to Sumter for the afternoon to have Logan's Birthday pictures made and before we left, mommy turned the car seat around so that Logan could ride facing forward. He loved it! He especially loved the fact that he could see mommy eating her lunch and that meant she would have to share!
When we got to Grams house, she showed him some of her butterflies. He was intrigued and did really well to only touch it with one finger.

After pictures, butterflies, a couple of errands, and lunch, Logan was exhausted and crashed as soon as we got in the car to head back home.

It was a special birthday with Logan and it is definitely hard to believe that he is already one year old! We all love you, Logan!!!

Dylan on the 4 wheeler

Dylan had a WWI project he had to do and turn in last Thursday. He had a choice of 3 things to do and he chose to do a Diorama. He did a wonderful job on it and the great thing about this project is that he really enjoyed doing it. That is always nice since he doesn't particularly care for school anyway. In the diorama there are soldiers who were very wounded (you can see the blood), a rat eating one of the dead soldiers, barbed wire, trenches, and a little bridge for them to cross. Hopefully, he gets a good grade on it - I am sure he will!

It was so nice out last Tuesday that Dylan decided to ride his 4-wheeler around for a while. He is getting pretty brave on it though. So, I am starting to get a little nervous about his riding. It was really funny to see Logan watch him. He didn't realize it was Dylan and he was scared when Dylan started walking towards him with his helmet and mask on.
Logan and daddy in the bobcat moving dirt around - will daddy's shop ever get finished???

A day at the Park

Today was absolutely beautiful!!! I wish it would be this nice outside every day of the year. It was a nice 78 outside so we decided to take Logan to the park. He loves, loves, loves to swing, so he just sat there and did so until it was time to go pick Dylan up from school.
We had such a wonderful day!
This morning Logan had an appointment with his pediatric cardiologist to see how his heart condition is doing. The prognosis was great! His "numbers" were actually better than last time and now we don't have to go back for a whole year. It is truly a blessing! She also said that she really doesn't think his heart will be any kind of issue until later in life - like his 40's or 50's. Yay!!! These pictures pretty much speak for themselves and will tell how much fun Logan had at the park!
Daddy even got to join us!

On our way home after a fun afternoon at the park!

Happy Birthday, Maddox!

Last week (February 1st) was Logan's friend, Maddox's, birthday. His party was on Sunday and it was so much fun. He had lots of friends there and they were all very close in age to Logan and Maddox. It was very busy. I think there were like 15 total children there. But it was definitely a great time. Thanks for having us to your party, Maddox. We had a lot of fun and look forward to seeing you again soon. Here's to many more fun birthdays to come!!! Love, The Subers Singing Happy Birthday
Diving in to the cake. He did manage to make somewhat of a mess. And his daddy even got to try some off his fingers. It was too sweet!
Wilson was so cute - he would pick up a toy and just hand it to Logan. He is definitely on the right track to being a good sharer!
Logan loving the Thomas the Train table
Aunt Chappel with Logan in the car
Ok, so we attempted to get a picture of all the babies together and before we knew it we were all running to the couch to catch a baby before they hit the floor. It was really quite comical
Finally, we opted to just have mom's in the pictures with the babies. There were some older children at the party as well (including Maddox's older brother James), but they were of running around outside!

Good day for a Walk

Tuesday was so beautiful here. It was about 60 out and was so sunny - however, it was a little windy. Grams had come over that morning to watch Logan so I could go get my hair done and when she was leaving we walked her out to her car. Logan did not want to go back in the house! After getting him in and letting him take a nap, we went and picked Dylan up from school and then came home and got ready for a walk. He absolutely loves to be outside and does so well on our walks. We "talk" about the birds, dogs, and anything else we see. It is lots of fun! Getting ready for our walk
Playing with his toys
So sweet!

Pregnancy - Fun Stuff!

So, I am about 6 1/2 weeks along now and I am sooo tired all the time. I seriously need a nap daily just to make it through the day. I started exercising (finally) the week of New Year's (no, this was not a NY resolution - just a health decision). I had lost 11 pounds in 3 weeks, but now I am stuck and have actually gained back a couple of pounds. I know this is ok and I don't really want to be dieting and losing a lot of weight while I am pregnant, but I am trying to make this pregnancy healthier than the last 3. I just want to be able to get back in my "skinny" jeans one day and hopefully by working out throughout this pregnancy, it might just be possible. When I was pregnant with Logan I had a lot of nauseousness, but not nearly as much this time. So, I am hoping that it stays that way. I am really excited about getting to be pregnant again and having another baby. Although, I am a little worried about the hectic life I will have when the baby first gets here - making sure I spend enough time with both of them and Dylan, being a good mom to all of them, etc. But of course, I can't wait. A lot of people think that I am holding out for that girl, but I seriously have a strong feeling this one is another boy. We don't really have a name picked out for him yet, but are playing with some ideas. None have been liked by both of us though - this is a hard decision!!!
So, that is a little update on how the pregnancy is going. I'll just be happy when I get into my 2nd timester. I know it will go by fast, so I am trying to enjoy life as I now know it as much as possible!

Eating with Logan

Logan cut his right eye last week on one of his toys. He was walking along and fell and hit his head on the side of a toy. He screamed something terrible when it happened!!!

Here lately we have tried to get Logan eating more real food than baby food. That transition is not going so well...
Sometimes he will do really well starting out and then he decides to stick his tongue out and not swallow any more food when he gets tired of the texture. It is really weird how one day he will eat every bit of it and the next he will stick that tongue out once you put something in his mouth and he just lets it fall off - it's pretty messy! I can still get him to eat baby food for the most part. So, I am thinking this may take us a while.

Why do we buy toys?

Logan has loved laundry day for a while now and I finally got some shots of why... Any time I bring the hamper (that is on wheels) from my room to the laundry room, he will stand there and yell at me. The reason - I created a monster. One day, I was taking the hamper back to my room and I set him on top of it while holding on to him and just pushed him around. Well since then, he knows that he can get a ride and he loves it. The other day while Patrick was here we decided to stand him in it and let him hold on that way and that was a lot easier (and safer). I seriously don't think it is necessary to ever buy toys. Children always seem to like household items, the boxes, and anything other than the toy better!
Daddy pushing Logan
Here he is making a sound like a car makes. It is his new thing to do when he pushes his firetruck or dumptruck around.
When Patrick would stop, Logan would turn around and start yelling at him. But when Patrick would start pushing him again, he just preferred to ride backwards!
