17 Months!

Wow - Logan is almost a year and a half! I am so excited to be in this phase of his life because it is so fun, but on the other hand, I am extremely sad that it is going by so fast!!!

Logan has learned and started doing so much just in the past month...

He talks all the time and can really communicate so well with what he wants or wants to do. He wakes up every morning wanting milk and asking for his "bbboie" aka movie. He also knows that there is a movie in the car so sometimes he will tell me, "bye bye - bbboie." It is so sad. We try to limit is movie to twice a day, but Blake will give in to him a lot and turn the tv on for him. Luckily, Logan is still enjoying reading and loves all his books.
This is what he looks like a lot during the day.
Logan absolutely loves his older brothers. Blake and Dylan are both so great with him and Patrick and I know how lucky we are to have such wonderful older brothers for Logan to grow up with. Logan calls Blake "B" and Dylan "Do Do." Since Dylan is spending some time with his dad right now, we are looking at lots of pictures of Dylan so that Logan can tell us who he is and remember him. Logan has gotten to talk with Dylan a couple of times on the phone so that helps. We have to pry the phone away from Logan a lot of the time because he walks around asking for daddy's phone and grandaddy's. He just sees one of them and automatically says and signs, "pease."
We have been spending a lot of time on the boat the past few weeeks and Logan is loving it! He likes all the dogs that everyone brings for him to play with. Usually, he has to look from a distance because we don't let him off the boat to walk around without a life jacket - which he hates normally!
Daddy got new goggles for jet skiing, so Logan got to try them on and play with them for a minute.
Some new things Logan has been doing:
  • asking for cookies (which he is having in the above picture)
  • Telling me when he wants to go outside
  • Saying "mommy" and "daddy" as many times a day as possible (He points at the pictures in the house and makes sure I know who is in the picture over and over)
  • He still loves to play with all his toys and is learning to do puzzles
  • started saying, "two, three" when he wants to jump off the side of the pool or off my bed to me (we still can't get him to say "one" though)
  • He will repeat a lot of stuff now and it is so funny to hear him say some of the words
  • He'll say "Bapple" for Chappell, but he won't say Marty, Sara Grace or Grams. Sara comes out sometimes (when he wants to) and we can't figure out how he is saying it. It is never the same - once it was "seeya" which was pretty funny. He loves to say "Kat Kat" for Katherine. He probably says that more than anything else other than mommy and daddy
  • He definitely loves to say "daddy"
  • He can now do the first party of "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and it is adorable
He still loves to play with all the remotes. Here he is playing in the top drawer of Patrick's nightstand getting out all the old remotes. Don't ask why, but there are eight in there so he is in heaven!

Logan loves to run around on my bed. It is nerve-racking, but he has so much fun playing up there for some reason. He also loves for you to pile the pillows on the floor and to jump and fall into them. That is much safer!

Patrick and I love to just sit and watch Logan play. He is so comical and entertaining. He has truly brought so much more joy to our lives than we would have ever expected. We ask ourselves what we did before he got here.
When daddy gets home from work, we hear the sensor go off and Logan runs to the door and likes to go out and greet his daddy. This particular day, Patrick had a bad day at work, so I am sure he was so happy to see Logan's little face running towards him! Of course, once he sees Patrick, all he wants is the phone. That is the bad part. And yes, Logan has called a few business contacts for Patrick.

How can children stand the heat so much easier than we can? Logan would play outside all day if I would let him. He is so happy running around in the driveway or backyard. He likes to pick up sticks though!

Logan learning to spell our last name!

We are so lucky to have such a happy and healthy baby boy. I know he isn't a baby anymore, but it sure does seem like it still. Time shouldn't go by this fast.
The great thing is that Logan truly is so good. I sure do hope he stays this way. I am glad that he isn't too stubborn or defiant and is very helpful to clean up his toys and helps me clean stuff up in the house. The one thing he won't cooperate on is changing his diaper. He would rather run around stinking and full than for me to take a minute to clean him up. I couldn't ask for a better baby.
Logan, we love you so very much and are enjoying you more and more every day!!!
Love you,
Mommy, Daddy, Blake and Dylan
