Mad Platter Madness

Saturday, the 28th of March, we met some friends and family at Mad Platter to do Easter Plates. Logan and Sara Grace made one last year for me as a surprise while I was out of town at Grandaddy's funeral and I love it. So, I thought Hampton needed one also for his first Easter! We met lots of friends there. In this picture is Sawyer and Maddox.
Mimi came to help us and pick out what she wanted for her house. I was so thankful to have the help!
Some more of our friends, Elizabeth, Margaret (the owner), Aunt Chappell, and Mandy.
In the past, Logan has always screamed during the painting of his feet. He did so well this time. He just sat there and stared while Margaret did her painting. I think it may have helped that he was being held by Mimi...
What's that??? It looks like he may have even looked happy about his footprint!
Then, Aunt Sara showed up to help also...Yay for Aunt Sara's help!
Mommy and Aunt Sara working with Logan. He made Easter eggs with his thumbprint.
Mimi brought us her exersaucer so that Hampton could play. He really enjoyed it!
Working so hard!
Can you tell he just woke up???
Mimi helping Mommy with Hampton (at this point, Grandaddy had taken Logan to his house for a nap so that we could get our painting done). Hampton was soooo good. He was there for
3 1/2 hours and never even fussed!
He was so tired - poor baby!
Aunt Sara working on Sara Grace's 1st year plate
The final product
It is Hampton's footprint and Logan's thumbprints as the eggs. I love it!
And the springtime plate I had the boys make. Each butterfly is a set of the boys' footprints. And, there is a caterpillar in the grass. It looks better once it has gone through the kiln. I'll have to post pictures of the final products...but here is the "before the kiln" looks.

Hampton Starts Solids

Hampton has started solids now. He has eaten Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, Apples, and we tried Peas last night. He wasn't too sure about it at first, but he is doing great with it now. Here is his first taste of sweet potatoes...
Yum!
We kind of had a battle with the carrots one night. Looks like the carrots won!
I know it doesn't look like it, but he really does enjoy the veggies. He wasn't too crazy about the peas, but I am going to keep at it. I don't know what I will do if I have to deal with another picky eater!!!

Eating Issues

We have had eating issues with Logan for a long time now and I don't see an end in sight! He will not eat what we are having for dinner ever. He only gets what we are having and pretty much goes to bed without supper on a daily basis. We have tried everything and nothing seems to be working. Everyone keeps assuring me that he will outgrow it, but we have been going through this for about a year now. I certainly hope that he does outgrow it, but I'm not feeling that coming too soon...UGGGHHH!Logan eating carrots and then telling me, "Ogi not ike it."
I got him to try it by telling him it was candy - sad, huh? If you don't tell him something like that he won't even try it. It is so ridiculous!
We finally set up the new table that G-daddy and Mimi gave to him in the hopes that he would sit there and not cry throughout dinner. He does eat lunch and breakfast pretty well there, but dinner is the main issue. He loves his new table and has learned that before he can get up he has to ask to be excused. It is so cute to see him ask!
Eating his toast for breakfast.
Now that Logan is out of the high chair, we have moved Hampton in. I just let him sit there and play while we are eating if it isn't his turn to eat. He is pretty happy sitting up at the table with us. He has learned that we are eating though and doesn't like feeling left out of that. So, I have to give him a cracker (crushed) to keep him occupied sometimes.

His first gerber biscuit. I watch him very close so he doesn't choke - he likes to shove it down his throat!
Messy little face!
Any suggestions on getting Logan to eat his dinner and try new things???

Sleeping in the Crib

Hampton started sleeping at night in his crib for the first time on March 11th and has been there since. We didn't move him up there until then due to all of his tummy issues that would keep him up a lot at night. His sleep patterns were so unreliable and I was NOT going up and down stairs all night long - therefore, he was in the co-sleeper in our room until the 11th. He did very well moving up there. There were only a few nights that he would get up more than once, but we worked through it. Two nights ago, he slept through the night for the first time and did the same last night. We'll see if it continues...hopefully so!
Sweet sleeping baby!

Spring is Here!

Yay! We get to go outside and play!!!The boys and I have been trying to play outside every day since it is getting warmer. It has rained a lot lately, which has made it a little difficult. But hopefully that is coming to an end.
Hampton got to swing in the swing and loves it. He will sit there as long as I will push him!
The pollen just fell, so that makes me a little nervous having the boys outside since Patrick has such bad allergies. Both boys have been sick with runny noses and lots of congestion. I think they both have been on an antibiotic since early February. They have each been on 3 a piece since then. I just pray we are done with all of that!
Logan loves to dig in the dirt with his "tools" and shovel. He plays for hours just digging in the dirt. Why did I even buy him a playset or ride on toys???
We now have holes all over the place!
On a side note...You can see some of what Daddy's "man cave" looks like. It is done on the outside and they are doing the sheet rock and insulation this week. I can't wait for his office to move out of my house where I have my own stuff in there and don't have to share with him (he's a little messy)!
Logan's rake that he was so proud of getting dirty.
Our little Gamecock!
It is so much fun being able to take the boys outside in the afternoons. It sure does help keep the boys busy!
Happy Spring!

Exersaucer/Around-we-go Fun!

Hampton loves his exersaucer/around-we-go.
I caught these cute pictures of him one afternoon just playing...
Such a sweet face!
Awww...
His hands are constantly in his mouth!
He figured out how to make this little dinasour spin and it is so cute.

Logan 25 months

Another month with Logi... Logan is just starting to pay more attention to Hampton. He still doesn't interact with him too much. Basically, it is usually only in the bathtub where Hampton is kicking Logan. He pretty much ignores that too though. One day I am going to miss these days I am sure!
Logan is so very happy. He loves to run and hide from us still - although it gets old sometimes. He still thinks it is hilarious!
Logan and I went to see Mickey Mouse in the Playhouse Disney show. He absolutely LOVED it! He got up and did the "Hot Dog" Dance and was very excited to see Mickey and Goofy! It was fun for me to get to see him having so much fun. I can't wait to take him again next year! He got these souveniers while we were there. I tell you Disney makes a KILLING!
Fireman Logan. He got this firetruck for his first Christmas and he still plays with it every day.
I love that he wears the firman hat with it!
Fireman Logan outside in Daddy's shop helping run the tractor!
Logan loves to see tractors and big trucks. I still can't drive down the road without him yelling, "Daddy's Tractor/Big Truck."
For Logan's birthday, one of his friends got him a t-ball set. He hasn't quite figured it out, but we are working on that...He loved hitting the ball and running around the yard. To tag you out, he likes to throw the ball at you. I felt like I was playing dodge ball!
My sweet little boy growing up so fast!
There is still some "baby" in that face. I am not wanting to let him grow up...I'm kind of sad!

HOMERUN!
Riding the tractor with Hampton.
You can see he was not too happy about us putting H in his lap.
Logan ran up into the trees to "rake" with the broom. When it was time to leave, Patrick had to go get him because he was not about to leave his job!
Daddy watched Logan one day and it was a mess - literally!
Patrick called me to tell me that Logan had gotten ahold of some of the popcorn that comes in packages and had it all over the house. Who do you think had to clean it up???
The funny thing about this picture is that Logan's shirt says, "My dad rocks."
How appropriate!
Happy 25 months, Logi Bear.
We all love you so very much!!!

Hampton Sitting Up

After working with Hampton on a regular basis, he can now sit up on his own. I still prop him up with the boppy just so he doesn't fall backwards and hurt himself. These are pictures from him sitting up for the first time on March 21st. It is so exciting for him to be able to sit up and play with different toys and play in a new way!

What a sweet little boy!

April 1st - A year ago...

One year ago yesterday I found out that Hampton was going to be a boy. I was so sad at the time that my dream of getting a girl was gone. Now looking back, I feel so blessed that God gave Hampton to me and not that little girl I wanted. Hampton is such a sweet little boy and I am so very thankful that he is mine! Who wouldn't love this little face???
